How judging works (short)

- Timeline after deadline: screening Sep 4–24 · jury Sep 25–Oct 1 · winners first week of October
Always re-check Higgsfield’s official festival guide and festival page before submit day.

- 18+ with a registered Higgsfield account
- Worldwide where legally permitted
- Solo filmmakers allowed
- Teams up to four, with one Team Leader who owns the project / prize receipt
- Multiple entries allowed if each is a separate standalone film
- One prize per participant or team across all films
A free registered account is enough according to Higgsfield’s published FAQ — you do not need a paid plan solely to enter. Still read the official rules before you rely on that for a production schedule.
Film requirements (expanded)
- Minimum runtime: 3 minutes
- Recommended: about 3–5 minutes; longer remains eligible
- Aspect ratio: 16:9 or 21:9
- Container: MP4 or MOV, up to 4K
- Genre / style: open
- Language: any language (including fictional) with English subtitles or English voice-over
Audio
Music, voices, and sound design must be AI-generated under the published festival guidance, uploaded into the submission project, with rights held by the creator. Do not drop in uncleared commercial tracks and hope for the best.
Social publication requirement
A minimal viable submission includes the final film (with Higgsfield watermark / packshot as required) and a public post of that same film. Supported platforms listed by Higgsfield include Instagram, YouTube, X, and Reddit. The post must stay public and viewable without login — private or locked accounts can disqualify an otherwise complete entry.
Judging
Submissions move through screening (requirements / integrity), shortlisting, and jury review. Criteria emphasized by Higgsfield:
- Directing & storytelling
- Visual craft
- Sound & editing
- Originality & concept
There is also a public / community shortlist path alongside Higgsfield creative-team picks. Published jury names on the official guide include Edwin Catmull, Phedon Papamichael, and Paul W.S. Anderson — confirm the live festival materials if you cite the jury in marketing.
Separately, Higgsfield has promoted production credits (up to a published 100,000-credit pool) for standout public projects during the creation period. That is not the cash prize table below.
Prize breakdown (cash) — secondary
| Place | Winners | Amount each |
|---|---|---|
| 1st place | 1 | $500,000 |
| 2nd place | 1 | $200,000 |
| 3rd place | 1 | $100,000 |
| Audience Choice | 1 | $100,000 |
| Honorable mention | 10 | $10,000 |
| Total cash pool | $1,000,000 · 14 prize slots | |
Under the published structure, track prizes, Audience Choice, and honorable mentions do not stack: one film takes one prize, and one participant or team takes one prize across all entries.

Not a contest — Seedance Unlimited (production advantage)
Higgsfield’s published Seedance Unlimited program gives qualifying users a window of unlimited Seedance generations without per-clip credit deductions on selected models — currently documented around a 30-day Unlimited framing, with a related 14-day Unlimited structure that introduces Seedance 2.5 as a selectable model in the second half of the window.
If you see marketing language about multi-week “Max” benefits, treat plan SKUs as living terms: check Pricing / account add-ons on Higgsfield for what your plan actually unlocks today. Do not describe Unlimited as “33 days of free credits.” Credits are not the unit of value here — unlimited generation mode is.
Practical production notes
- Unlimited generations typically run on a shared standard queue (often 1 concurrent job)
- Resolution is commonly capped at 480p / 720p on unlimited variants; higher delivery may need credit-based models or upscaling
- Credit Mode can still run in parallel when you need priority speed
- Unlimited access is described as available on higgsfield.ai — not via MCP / CLI / Canvas / Supercomputer surfaces
- Confirm Unlimited mode is actually toggled on; otherwise generations may still burn credits
For festival production, a sane workflow is: iterate on Unlimited (or high-throughput Seedance), then spend credits only on delivery passes that need higher fidelity or priority queue.

Which Higgsfield contest should you enter?
Independent filmmaker / AI creator
→ Global Film Festival
$1M cash pool, $500k first prize, solo entries, multiple standalone films allowed, broad creative freedom.
Agency / brand / commercial team
→ Adathon
30–60s brand spot, commercially oriented brief, large credit prizes, Brandweek exposure — if you meet professional-team eligibility.

Not a contest. Qualifying Unlimited access can make exploration cheaper while you build festival or ad work — if your plan includes it and Unlimited mode is on.
FAQ
Is Higgsfield really giving away $1 million?
Yes — as a published cash prize pool for the Global Film Festival: $500k / $200k / $100k / $100k Audience Choice / ten $10k honorable mentions. Confirm the live rules page before you treat any single number as final for banking purposes.
What is the Higgsfield Global Film Festival deadline?
September 3, 2026 at 11:59 PM Pacific (September 4 at 1:59 AM Central). Subject to official updates.
Can individuals enter?
Film Festival: yes — solo or teams of up to four. Adathon: primarily professional teams on qualifying business plans; individuals should not assume eligibility.
How long does my Higgsfield film need to be?
Minimum 3 minutes for the Global Film Festival. About 3–5 minutes is recommended; longer films remain eligible under current published guidance.
Is the multi-week Seedance offer free credits?
No. Unlimited means generations on a selected Seedance model do not deduct credits during the access window. It is not a free credit grant, and plan / resolution / surface limits still apply.
Can I submit more than one Higgsfield film?
Festival: unlimited separate films, but one prize per participant/team. Adathon: one entry per team member.
Can I make my film outside Higgsfield?
Do not assume so. Image/video generations for contest work must come through Higgsfield in the eligible window. Outside tools for conventional live-action portions may apply in Adathon under the 51% AI rule — not as a free pass for fully external AI pipelines.
Does the Adathon pay $85,000 cash?
No. The $85,000 figure is announced as Higgsfield credits, with Brandweek travel for top teams under published prize terms.
